Thanksgiving and beyond a bit!

Thanksgiving came and I was lucky enough once again to find a friend driving down to Mesa for the break. (I have been so lucky to this point to find a way home for Thanksgiving every year.)
We left Provo on Tuesday which gave plenty of time to be at home and it was so nice to get to see Mom and Dad for a few days! It was also fun because two of my roommates also found a way down to Mesa for the break and we were able to spend a night at my house with my parents. I know that my roommates would love my parents and vice versa and they did! We had a lot of fun and my roommates said my dad was really funny and my mom was really sweet (both things which I agree with!). I think that meeting someone's parents can explain a lot about them, so I was excited for them to meet my parents. I also spent a lot of time reading over the break, and because I had so much time I was able to read "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay" and I could hardly put either of them down! Thanksgiving is a great little break in the middle of the semester...I only wish that there was a similar break in Winter semester!

For Thanksgiving me and the folks went over to Jen and Adam's for dinner.
Jen and Adam's boys are so fun to get to see every few months! I love that they get excited to see me when I come over!

Mom and I went to see the Temple lights the day after Thanksgiving. I just love going to see the lights!

The FHE after Thanksgiving was Jeanie's birthday (one of my FHE sisters) so we had a little party and frosted Christmas cookies. Some of the decorating was very artistic!

The FHE Family

Getting a little crazy...maybe we don't handle sugar so well...

One Friday we also took a trip to Salt Lake to to to Temple Square and see the lights and the nativities. This is one of my favorite things to do at Christmas time so I was excited some other people wanted to go along.

On the way back we hit some traffic due to the never ending construction in Utah so Marissa and I took advantage of this time to take our usual pictures in the back seat.

Including our usual funny face pictures!
Emily was nice enough to drive up to Salt Lake...don't worry this was while we were sitting in traffic for like 1/2 an hour so she wasn't really driving at this point! While we wasted time in traffic we decided to make a game of it and make friends with people in neighboring cars...it was pretty entertaining!

Emily Mortensen (pictured above, not my roommate Emily) graduated from USU in December so to celebrate she decided to have an ice skating party which I gladly joined in on! (as did some other people!) The best part...I didn't fall at all!

The one normal picture we got that night!

I love Emily's face in this picture! It makes me smile!

Not really sure what Marissa was doing at this point...but it just added to our collection of strange roommate pictures!

Apparently at this point I thought that Stephanie's head looked good!
The whole group of fun people!
