Good Times, Sunshine and Summertime

One fun thing we did a few times this summer was to take Andrew to the pool! He loved every minute of being in the pool, and he was really entertaining to watch as he played in the water! Plus he just looks so cute in his little swimsuit and his hat!

Andrew also got a few teeth while I was in Texas...they sure were sharp little things! Now I think he has one more than this but I'm not sure! Such a big boy!!

He also discovered how much he loves his little feet!! He would sit and suck on his toes for the longest time and it just looked cute...although a little gross!
Partway through the summer I realized that I had very few if any pictures of me and Andrew together so I decided to fix that! Once I got my computer, there was a webcam on it so I took some on there, this one is one of my favorites! Then I asked Mhari to take some for me too and this is one of my favorites that she took...I just love this little guy so, so much!

The Capitol!

The Texas Capitol is an absolutely beautiful building! I'd never been before so I really wanted to go sometime this summer because all of my sisters have been so I told Mhari it was somewhere I wanted to visit before I left. We went on a Friday night, so it was pretty empty and sadly a lot of the rooms were closed but I still got to see some pretty amazing things! I love how proud Texas is of its history, and how beautifully they display it! The Lone Star is found in so many places and it is so beautiful everywhere it is displayed, from the door knobs, to the floor, and from the benches, and elevator doors, to the top of the Capitol dome, it is everywhere and it is beautiful! I also love the hinges on the door, they say in as big of letters as are possible, "Texas Capitol". The weirdest part of walking around the Capitol was having Humanities 201 flashbacks and trying to remember what specific architectural elements were called...obviously I didn't remember too many because there were a lot of things that I just looked at and thought I know we learned about that but I don't remember the word...Anyway, I loved the Capitol building, I only learned 1/2 of Texas History because then I moved to Idaho and learned 1/2 of Idaho history, but I love how much of Texas History can be gleened from a visit to the Capitol (as well as the earlier mentioned visit to the Alamo) Congratulations Texas on having such a beautiful building to call your Capitol! (even when it is under construction)
