Christmas this year was our big family Christmas. We all gathered to Arizona with anticipation and excitement for all of the fun things we had planned. I got home a few days before anyone else did which is what happens when you are the single college student who works on campus and can come home right after finals. Because of this I made it home in time to see 5 of my dad's 7 siblings and my grandma, that much of my dad's family at one time is a rarity, so it was good to see a lot of them. Getting home this early also meant that I got a few days to sleep in, and get a little more caught up on the sleep I had deprived myself of the week previous. Kalli and Steve got there on Monday afternoon and thank goodness, Dad was good enough to go into work a little late so that I wouldn't have to drive at the airport all by myself. I would have been fine driving to the airport but the airport itself was crazy and people were being ridiculous...so I was really glad to have him driving instead. Tuesday all of us caught up on much needed rest after the last week and then we continued preparations for everyone else to get there. We worked on the grocery shopping and the house and other things and we could hardly wait for the house to be bursting at the seams with family! Meg got there next followed by Kiersty and then Mhari and finally everyone was there. Unfortunately unbeknownst to all of us a sickness was being carried from one person to the next. We're not quite sure where it began originally but a nasty bug passed from Mhari to James (somewhere in this time Cora caught it and she passed it to Jake and BrieAnn too) to Kalli to Me to Megan to Seth to Mom and finally to Dad and apparently Steve caught just a slight case of the bug after he left. Kiersty must just be the strongest of us all! So other than someone in the house throwing up almost every day that we were together for the holiday we had a really great time together. I think that this is the first time I have ever been sick on Christmas and I really hope it is the last because I would not like a repeat of that! Since we were all sick over the time we were together we didn't want to pass it on to anyone else so the big birthday bash we were supposed to have for Andrew was canceled and instead we celebrated at our house with just our family. I guess it's a good thing he doesn't understand the concept of a party yet so he couldn't be disappointed by that! After everyone left I didn't have a whole lot to do, but I went and visited one of my young women's leaders and her kids. It was so fun to see them, and while I was there it started snowing...in Mesa...I didn't think it was possible!! I also spent some time with my favorite Becky! I love that girl so much and visiting with her was just what I needed! I'm so lucky to have such an amazing friend! New Year's Eve was spent at RiAnne and Brock's New Year's party, which was a lot of fun. And I just spent a lot of time with my mom and dad cause they are the most important part of going home! Oh and the night before I left I went over and spent some time at Robert and Nanette's so that I could see them and their family for a little while! It was so fun to see them for a little bit. Sadly the next day I had to leave the beautiful winter of AZ to return to the nastiness that is Utah winters...and I also had to return to school but at least I am in my program now so I've actually started taking classes that I care about!
Now some of my favorite pictures from Christmas time!
Andrew had a problem letting go of the spoon sometimes! We decided that he looks kind of like the Grinch when he was little...
